Suspended Soo Tribe police chief back on the job

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Michigan has reinstated police chief Fred Paquin, who had been suspended after he was accused of an assault.

The state dropped the charges against Paquin under a deferred prosecution agreement. He returned to the job last Thursday, a spokesperson said.

Paquin was on paid suspension.
