Nebraska Natives more likely to be arrested after stops

American Indians were more likely to be arrested by police officers after traffic stops than whites, according to a new report from the
Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
Based on data from 2007, American Indians were 10 percent of arrests after traffic stops. That was more than twice the statewide average of 4.5 percent.
Prior reports have confirmed similarly high rates of traffic arrests even though American Indians are only about 1 percent of the state population.
