Hopi village to break ground on $100M project

A village on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona will break ground in July on a $100 million economic development project.

Described as the "Gateway to Hopi Land," the project includes a motel, conference center, office complex, bank, a business center and potentially some housing. It will be located in the Upper Village of Moenkopi.

The The Moenkopi Developers Corporation, Inc., a nonprofit started by the Hopi Tribe, hopes the project will attract more tourists to the reservation. The village recently opened a $6.3 million travel center.
