KBIC member indicted for theft of timber resources

A member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community of Michigan was indicted in federal court for stealing timber resources from the tribe.

Robert Genschow allegedly cut down "thousands of dollars worth of timber" without the tribe's consent. He was charged with unlawfully cutting and wanton destruction of trees on a reservation and for theft and embezzlement of property.

Genschow faces up to six years in prison if he is convicted on both charges.
