House Resources Committee markup on two bills

Rep. Nick Rahall (D-West Virignia), the chairman of the committee, just said H.R.5680, the technical corrections bill, will not be considered today. He said it needs "a bit more work" before the committee can mark it up.

The House Natural Resources Committee is holding a markup this afternoon at 1pm.

Two Indian bills are on the agenda. They are:

• HR 4841: To approve, ratify, and confirm the settlement agreement entered into to resolve claims by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians relating to alleged interences with the water resources of the Tribe, to authorize and direct the Secretary of the Interior to execute and perform the Settlement Agreement and related waivers, and for other purposes. "Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians Settlement Act"
• HR 5680: To amend certain laws relating to Native Americans, and for others purposes.

The markup will be broadcast online from Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building.
