Justice official who oversaw Abramoff probe to quit

The Justice Department official who oversaw the Jack Abramoff probe and other political corruption investigation is retiring at the end of the month.

Alice S. Fisher served as chief of the criminal division at DOJ. Her efforts saw the convictions and guilty pleas of more than a dozen people in connection with the Abramoff tribal lobbying scandal.

The investigation is still ongoing, four years after it started. Prosecutors are looking within DOJ ranks for possible corruption.
