Wednesday, May 7, 2008 Filed Under: Politics The House Natural Resources Committee, Subcommittee on Water and Power, will hold a hearing on Thursday on H.R.155, the Lower Brule and Crow Creek Tribal Compensation Act. The bill compensates the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe for damages caused by water projects along the Missouri River. The tribes lost valuable land, sacred sites and other property to dams created by the federal government. The bill is one of three on the agenda.
