Better Native count sought for 2010 Census

The U.S. Census Bureau can do a better job at counting American Indians and Alaska Natives, officials were told at a meeting in Great Falls, Montana, on Tuesday.
The 2000 Census identified 4,000 Native Americans in Cascade County. But local officials say the true count is about 7,000.
The county was unable to change the count but the Native American Local Government Commission wants the Census to hire more Native census takers for 2010. Counters need to know local tribes, officials said.
