Tribes in U.S. and Canada address gangs, drugs
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians hosted a meeting last Saturday to address gangs and drugs among Indian youth in the U.S. and Canada.

The meeting drew 40 tribes and First Nations. Tribal leaders talked about expanding educational opportunities for youth and promoting Indian pride.

"These are not issues that face one (tribal) government. It affects us all," San Manuel Chairman James Ramos told The Redland Daily Facts.

The tribes and First Nations plan to meet again in the 30 days.
