Two Lac du Flambeau council members removed
Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Two council members for the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa of Wisconsin were removed on Friday.

Fellow council members ousted Jerome "Brooks" Big John and Tom Maulson at a special meeting. It's not clear why the two were removed.

Maulson is a former president of the tribe and one of the five named plaintiffs in the Cobell trust fund lawsuit. He has criticized the way the tribe's finances have been handled.
