Cherokee Nation starts two more Freedmen websites

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma now has three websites to deal with the fallout from the Freedmen controversy.

The tribe is battling legislation that would cut its federal funds unless the Freedmen are restored to citizenship. The Freedmen are the descendants of former African slaves held by tribal members.

As part of a public relations campaign, the tribe launched Cherokee Nation Facts and Meet the Cherokee. That's in addition to the "Non-Indians" site on the tribe's main page.
