BIA's 'surge' at Standing Rock making an impact
Some residents of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation say an increase in law enforcement has already made an impact on crime.

As part of "Operation Dakota Peacekeeper," the Bureau of Indian Affairs has added 12 officers to patrol the reservation. Previously, only nine officers were responsible for the 2.4 million-acre reservation.

The so-called "surge" lasts 90 day. Sen. John Thune (R-South Dakota) said more funding is needed to improve law enforcement in Indian Country.
