Blackfeet Nation turns old bingo hall into skate park

Blackfeet Nation of Montana has found a new use for an old bingo hall.
The tribe converted the building into a skate park that also offers games, Internet access, concerts and community activities. More than 100 kids have shown up every night since it opened last month.
"What's surprising to me, with my work as a probation officer, is that the older kids are helping the younger kids," Carl McLean, manager of the Blackfeet Skate Park, told The Glacier Reporter.
It took four to five years for the park to get off the ground. The interior of the building was completely redone and work is being done outside to add a basketball court.
