Wisconsin county weighs land-into-trust challenge
Supervisors in Sauk County, Wisconsin, are meeting to discuss their land-into-trust lawsuit.

The county sued the Bureau of Indian Affairs for acquiring 5 acres in trust for the Ho-Chunk Nation. The county said it wasn't allowed to challenge the BIA's finding of no significant environmental impact for the acquisition.

The county also said the land-into-trust provisions of the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 are unconstitutional. Judge Barbara Crabb disagreed and dismissed the lawsuit.

The county could appeal the decision.
