Navajo Nation averts Internet shutdown for now

Communities on the
Navajo Nation will keep their Internet service, at least until August 1.
Most of the tribe's 110 chapters receive service through OnSat Network Communications Inc., a Utah company. But OnSat has lost $2.1 million in federal funding and can't pay its provider for the service.
OnSat lost its funding after a tribal audit questioned the company's billing practices. OnSat was receiving funds through a special
Federal Communications Commission program.
