EPA investigates spill on Southern Ute land
The Environmental Protection Agency is investigating a chemical spill on land owned by the Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado.

The gas-field chemical spill occurred at a BP well on April 17. Not many knew of the incident until a nurse who treated a worker who cleaned up the spill became very sick.

The EPA said it learned about the spill through the media. State officials have no authority to investigate since the land is tribal owned.
