Oklahoma tribes bless new arena in Tulsa
Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Representatives of four Oklahoma tribes blessed the city of Tulsa's new arena.

The Osage Nation, the Muscogee Nation, the Cherokee Nation and the Otoe-Missouria Tribe took part in the ceremony on Monday. They prayed to ensure the success of the $178 million BOK Center, which opens this weekend.

"It's not just the building that needs good thoughts," said Otoe Chaplain Gary Whitecloud, The Tulsa World reported. "It's also the people who will be guiding it to prosperity."
