Oklahoma tribes celebrated a milestone in the construction of the
American Indian Cultural Center and
Museum in Oklahoma City.
The Central Promontory Mound, inspired by historic Indian mounds, welcomes visitors to the facility. The 90-foot-high was built in about two years, The Oklahoman reported.
Work continues on the $150 million museum, which will be affiliated with the
Smithsonian Institution.
