Ex-Navajo official not selected for school district job

It looks like the
Central Consolidated
School District in New Mexico won't be hiring a former
Navajo Nation official after all.
The Farmington Daily reported on Monday that Tommy Lewis Jr., who was the tribe's first education superintendent, was hired by the school district. But the board on Tuesday said it would continue looking for a superintendent.
Lewis was fired by the tribe in July 2007 after a little over a year on the job. He settled his employment rights case earlier this year.
