House passes Trail of Tears Documentation Act
The House passed H.R.5335, the Trail of Tears Documentation Act, by a voice vote on Monday.

The bill adds segments to the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail. It covers routes that Cherokee ancestors used in Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee as they were forced to leave their homelands in southeastern U.S.

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians support the bill, which has not been considered by the Senate
