Sen. Obama going after Indian vote in the Plains
Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) is going after the Indian vote in Republican "red" states, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports.

Obama has offices on four reservations in Montana and on two in South Dakota. He campaigned on the Crow Reservation back in May and met with tribal leaders in South Dakota that month. Nearly every tribal leader in the Plains has endorsed Obama.

Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), the former chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, hasn't opened any offices in Montana or in South Dakota or North Dakota. Liane Johnson, a member of the Blackfeet Nation and vice chair of the Montana Republican Party, says her party hasn't done enough to reach out to Indian Country.
