Crow court dismisses charges against Indian sheriff
A judge for the Crow Tribe of Montana dismissed domestic violence charges against Big Horn County Sheriff Lawrence "Pete" Big Hair.

Big Hair and his estranged wife were arrested in June in an incident that nearly cost Big Hair his county job. Residents started a recall petition against him following the charges in tribal court.

A state judge rejected the petition and prevented it from appearing on next week's ballot. But Big Hair reportedly remains under investigation by the Montana Department of Justice.
