There's a new sheriff in town in Apache County, Arizona, and for the first time in history, it's a member of the Navajo Nation. Joe Dedman Jr. beat five other challengers for the Democratic nomination for Apache County Sheriff. Since the Republican party didn't put up a candidate, he was assured victory on Tuesday. “We made history and I’m looking forward to taking office,” Dedman told The Gallup Independent.
