Tribal judge dismisses charges against Hopi chair

A judge for the Hopi Tribe of Arizona dismissed two out of three charges against Chairman Ben Nuvamsa.

Nuvamsa was accused of violated a tribal resolution, failing to obey a lawful court order and damaging public property. The judge dismissed all but the property charge.

Nuvamsa wants the final charge dismissed and wants a judge to lift his suspension. He has been locked in a battle with the tribal council ever since he was elected last year.
