President-elect Barack Obama filled four top Department of Justice posts with former Clinton administration officials.

David W. Ogden is being tapped as deputy attorney general. Elena Kagan would serve as solicitor general, the first woman in the post.

Thomas J. Perrelli would serve as associate attorney general. Dawn E. Johnsen is being tapped as head of the Office of Legal Counsel.

Kagan, the dean of the Harvard Law School, would oversee all U.S. Supreme Court litigation in cases involving the federal government. The Bush administration has attacked the fiduciary trust responsibility in a slew of cases, including one that will be heard by the court next month.
