Bill in Wisconsin seeks removal of Indian mascots
The Wisconsin Legislature will hold a March 17 hearing on a bill that would lead to the removal of Indian mascots at public schools.

The bill creates a process for citizens to file a complaint about a mascot. If the local superintendent believes the complaint has merit, the school has to eliminate the mascot within a year or face daily fines.

Wisconsin has 39 schools with Indian mascots.
