Narragansett Tribe to fight land-into-trust ruling
The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island will fight to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.

Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas said the decision has broad implications for Indian Country. He said tribes will seek assistance from Congress, President Barack Obama and the United Nations.

"Obviously we’re not going to lay down and they should know that by now," Thomas told The Providence Journal.

The case is expected to be a big topic of discussion at the winter session of the National Congress of American Indians in Washington, D.C., next week.
