The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana will be celebrating May 14th, Israel's Independence Day, every year.
Last year, the tribe reached out to the Jewish nation to establish ties. The two nations signed a friendship agreement and promised to help each other with mutual projects.
"This is one of these things that brings Israel beyond the conflict, and something that we'd like to do on a regular basis," Asher Yarden, consul general for the Israeli government, told Isreal21C.
A tribal delegation plans to visit Israel this month.
