Turtle Talk: Most important Supreme Court decision
The Turtle Talk blog is running a poll to determine which U.S. Supreme Court decision readers think is most important.

The list includes nearly every major case, from the Cherokee decisions in the 1800s to encroachments on tribal sovereignty in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Carcieri v. Salazar is the most recent.

The blog's first poll asked readers to identify the federal Indian law doctrine that is most frustrating to tribes. With 41 percent of the vote, the most common answer was "lack of criminal jurisdiction over non-Indians" -- a result of the Oliphant v. Suquamish case.
