Houlton Band re-elects chief for fourth term
The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians re-elected Brenda Commander to a fourth term as chief of the Maine tribe.

Commander has served as chief for 12 years. She wants to develop new educational programs, start a tribal cemetery and create a cultural center or museum during her next term in office.

The tribe is planning to build a $2 million health center in the coming years.
