Crow Creek Sioux Tribe households lose power
Between 10 to 25 members of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe of South Dakota see their power disconnected due to unpaid bills, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports.

In July, Central Electric Co-op disconnected 25 households for unpaid bills. "It's a real big hardship on everybody," Chairman Brandon Sazue told the paper.

The tribe houses the affected families for up to three days in a motel. But most can't stay on the weekend because the rooms are booked for the busy summer season.

"They sit in houses suffering without electricity for the weekend. It's just hard all the way around," Sazue said.
