Kildee names Native American Caucus aide
Rep. Dale Kildee (D-Michigan) announced Paxton Myers, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, as his new Native American Affairs Advisor.

Myers will assist Kildee in his role as the Democratic chairman of the House Native American Caucus. Myers will work with members of Congress on Native American issues and coordinate with tribal leaders.

“I am pleased to announce Paxton Myers as my new Advisor on Native American Affairs. His extensive experience working with native communities and governments will make him a valuable asset to the Native American community. I look forward to working with him as we continue our important work advocating for the needs and rights of our Native American population," Kildee said in a press release.

Myers recently served as chief of staff to Eastern Band Chief Michell Hicks. Myers replaces Kim Teehee, a member of the Cherokee Nation who is the top Native American advisor at the White House.
