Cowessess First Nation seeks urban housing
The Cowessess First Nation wants to build housing for members who live in Regina, Saskatchewan.

More than 1,000 band members live in the city, That's nearly 30 percent of the First Nation's population.

"It would be great," Hali Lerat, a mother of four, told CBC News of the potential for tribal housing in the city. "I would be able to have ... somewhere nice for my children to come home to."

The First Nation says 80 percent of its members live off the reserve.
