Navajo Nation chapter dedicates veterans' center
Navajo Nation veterans in Upper Fruitland, New Mexico, have a place to call their own.

The 70 veterans will use the extension to the Upper Fruitland Chapter building for meetings and events and to store records. The project cost $200,000 and took only a few months to finish.

"When you consider what they have done for the Nation, it's really the least we could do in terms of giving back to them," said Navajo Nation Council delegate LoRenzo Bates, The Farmington Daily Times reported.

The chapter house was completed last year. Future plans call for a senior citizens' center.
