Native toddler out of hospital after being beaten
A 14-month-old Native girl is out of the hospital after being kidnapped and beaten in Winnipeg, Manitoba, last week.

Vanessa Houle is expected to make a full recovery. She was taken from her crib in her home last Tuesday and assaulted on a sidewalk.

Nikita Solange Eaglestick, 19, has been charged with attempted murder, abduction and aggravated assault. She was out on bail for an incident on the Little Grand Rapids First Nation when she allegedly took Vanessa.

Vanessa's mother, Daisy Houle, credited a 18-year-old man for stopping the attack.
