North Dakota tribal college starts nurse programs
The Fort Berthold Community College in North Dakota is offering a registered nurse and a practical nurse program at the request of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation.

The programs will prepare students to work at the tribe's new health center that is being built north of the college campus. Starting next year, a emergency medical technician training program will be offered.

The Elbowoods Memorial Health Center was authorized by an act of Congress to replace a hospital that was destroyed by the creation of the Garrison Dam in the 1950s. Construction began in October.
