Saginaw Chippewa chief ousted in special election
The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan held a special runoff election on Thursday.

The runoff was held due to a tie between incumbent chief Fred Cantu and Julius Peters for a seat on the tribal council. Peters ended up defeating Cantu by a vote of 316 to 127.

Cantu had served as chief for two terms.
