New Mexico tribe still waiting on stimulus funding
Jemez Pueblo in New Mexico was awarded a stimulus grant to study geothermal energy but the tribe says the Obama administration has been slow to release the money.

The tribe received $5 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. But the Department of Energy doesn't consider the project a priority, according to Steve Blodgett, the director of the tribe's resource protection office.

"They haven't given us any time frame. They're basically saying we'll get around to it when we get around to it," Blodgett told the Associated Press.

The department promised $338 million in geothermal energy grants.
