The Bureau of Indian Affairs added 213 acres to the Chehalis Reservation but officials in Thurston County, Washington, say that won't stop them from trying to assess taxes on a tribal resort.

The Great Wolf Lodge is now completely located on trust land and on the reservation. The county, however, believes it can tax the buildings that are located on the property because Great Wolf Resorts Inc., a non-Indian company, owns 49 percent of the business.

The tribe filed a lawsuit in federal court to challenge the tribe's tax assessments. A hearing is scheduled today to determine whether Great Wolf Lodge should pay taxes for the buildings.
