Women arrested for protesting against Native budget cut
Six women were arrested in Ottawa on Monday for protesting the end of federal funding to the Aboriginal Healing Foundation.

The women, who are part of a group called Missing Justice, occupied the office of Indian Affairs Minister Chuck Strahl before they were arrested. They called for continued funding to the Aboriginal Healing Foundation but the government has already rejected the idea.

The foundation received $350 million to help former students of the residential school system. Strahl said the program was never meant to be permanent.
