Lower Elwha Klallam woman seeks another term as chair
Frances Charles won her bid for re-election and plans to seek another term as chair of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe of Washington.

Charles has served on the tribal council for 16 years. She served as chair for the last three years in a row and several other times during her career.

"It is very good to maintain consistency," Charles told The Peninsula Daily News.

Fellow council members Russ Hepfer, Ed Johnson, Joe Turrey and Anthony Charles also plan to run for chair of the tribe. Balloting takes place by mail and in person throughout the month of May.
