Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes hire new editor for newspaper
The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma have a new editor for the tribal paper and the former editor said she was fired for running an opinion that angered tribal leaders.

Dana Attocknie was fired as editor of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal Tribune on April 10. She "published false information" about the tribal council, a spokesperson told The Native American Times.

The information in question was a opinion piece written by a tribal legislator. “I don’t know how a legislative opinion is false." Attocknie told the Times

Attocknie ran the paper for two years. She said she started having problems with tribal leaders who took office in January.

The new editor is Rosemary Stephens, a reporter and graphic artist.
