Rep. Kildee statement on House passage of Cobell settlement
Rep. Dale Kildee (D-Michigan), the co-chairman of the Congressional Native American Caucus, released the following statement on May 28, 2010.

After 13 long years, this legislation will finally bring a close to the Cobell lawsuit. This compensation will help make amends for the past mismanagement of Indian trust funds by the U.S. Government, as well as bring much needed resources to address fractionated Indian lands. While this is an important step, this is not the end of the fight for justice on behalf of Indian trust assets, and I will ontinue to fight to ensure that our tribes are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
