Puyallup Tribe holds general election for open council seats
The Puyallup Tribe of Washington held a general election on June 5 to fill two council seats.

Bill Sterud, who has served 30 years on the council, won his bid for re-election. He received the most votes out of the four candidates for the seats.

Roleen Hargrove secured the second largest number of votes. She served for 15 years on the council in the late 1980s and early 1990s, The Tacoma Weekly reported.

The paper said 905 people cast votes in the election.
