Oglala Lakota College hopes to expand off-reservation site
Oglala Lakota College, the tribal college of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, is seeking approval to expand its off-reservation campus in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The college plans to use $800,000 in federal funds to buy and convert an office building into classrooms. The city planning commission will vote on the project on July 22.

The campus has seen a rapid rise in enrollment, with 565 students taking classes in Rapid City. The college completed a four-classroom expansion three years ago.

“We are growing with each semester,” campus director Shirley Lewis told The Rapid City Journal.
