Oglala Sioux Tribe accepted as petitioner in uranium mine case
The Atomic Safety and Licensing Board is allowing the Oglala Sioux Tribe to participate in a challenge to a proposed uranium mine in South Dakota.

The board determined that the tribe will be affected by the Powertech mine in the sacred Black Hills. The tribe is worried about pollution to water and impacts on cultural and archaeological resources.

A site called Powertech Exposed provides information about opposition to the mine.
