Oneida Nation drops name brand tobacco in favor of own product
The Oneida Nation of New York will no longer sell "name brand" tobacco products at its convenience stores and other establishments.

The tribe will stick to the Niagara and Bishop brands, which it will continue to manufacture at a factory on the reservation. The goal is to prevent the state from imposing its taxes on the sale of goods to non-Indians.

The tribe also might buy and sell cigarettes produced by other tribal companies, an official said.
