At least three candidates run for principal chief of Cherokee Nation
Three candidates so far are running to lead the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Incumbent chief Chad Smith is seeking a fourth term in office. Council member Bill John Baker and John Cornsilk are also in the running.

The election takes place January 25, 2011. The winner will serve a four-year term.
