Navajo Nation ready to break ground on a new detention facility
The Navajo Nation will break ground on a new detention facility in Tuba City, Arizona.

The tribe closed the old jail due to environmental and safety issues. Local inmates are now being transported 155 miles away.

The new 144,000 square-foot facility will house a tribal court, law enforcement offices and a detention center.
