Criminal probe for death of Native man in hospital waiting room
Police in Winnipeg, Manitoba, have opened a criminal investigation into the death of a Native man in a hospital waiting room, CBC News reports.

Brian Sinclair, 45, was from the Sagkeeng First Nation. He waited 34 hours in the emergency room and died of a blood infection that could have been prevented if he was treated earlier, Manitoba's chief medical examiner said in September 2008.

Sinclair's family has filed a $1.6 million claim for the death.
